Anubis and Thanatos collide in Gods Go Pew Pew from Sneaky Slots. The new developer has decided to take on 2 mythological powerhouses in an attempt to produce big wins, and you could benefit from the results. Apparently, some death games will help break the ice and get us all initiated into this weird and wonderful creation, and then there's a game of laser tag too! The best result is a 9,999x max win.
Full review continued below ↓I know that Sneaky Slots is trying to make a name for itself in the industry, but this feature set list is crazy! You wouldn't believe the amount of work that's gone into creating this game, and it must have been a mathematical nightmare. They've even borrowed a couple of bits from Nolimit City to help lay the groundwork.
Understanding the standard wins is fairly simple, but the features might look a little more confusing.
On any one of the 50 paylines, you can land a payout worth up to 26x, and this can get even better when improved by the modifiers. Wild symbols also have the highest payout, and god symbols deliver some fancy movements. If both of them are in view, a fight begins, and the winner will produce a feature. You'll either see symbols upgraded to the next value, or they could be split in two.
There's also an xZone, which can appear on the central three reels, and when this lands, multipliers worth up to 50x are added around the zone. This helps to improve payouts that go through the winning zone.
3 hourglass symbols or super versions will trigger a choice of two bonus games. You can take seven dead spins and a skull multiplier improves your payouts, or you can go for laser tag. In the second bonus, the gods are at opposite ends of the reels, and they fire at each other to improve multiplier values.
The super version of these games adds multipliers to the symbols in the laser tag game, and in the dead spins, you get the active skull multiplier that stays in place throughout the bonus.
Boosts worth 2x and 5x can help improve your chances of activating the bonus feature, and you can grab a god fight for 15x! Death games are valued at 100x, and the super versions will cost 500x. You can only purchase these options outside the UK.
Three hourglass symbols will give you the option to choose between dead spins and laser tag. Seven dead spins with active skull multipliers and extra god symbols are the first offering, and laser tag will put a god above and below the reels as they fire lasers at each other. The result is an increasing multiplier thanks to these laser shots, and this continues until either god takes seven hits.
When two god symbols are positioned opposite each other, the symbols in between will turn wild, and just for having the two god symbols in view, you'll see either a split or a swap take place. A random number of symbols might split in two, or one of the symbols can get upgraded and swap to a higher paying value.
You only have to take a few spins to realise just how much win potential there is spinning around these reels. Base game wins aren’t anything to get particularly excited about, but they never stay standard for long. Modifiers help improve the rewards with fairly high frequency, or at least that was my experience. Importantly, the max win isn't ridiculously high at 9,9999x, and given some of the large wins that I witnessed, I don't think it'll be long before we see that drop.
Some of the animations in this game are quite amusing! It's clear that a lot of time and effort went into delivering these details. Visually, everything is pulled together around the theme in a clever fashion, and you’re never in too much doubt as to what's going on once it all starts playing out. The soundtrack is incredibly understated, and I didn't feel the need to switch it off! Play this game on your mobile phone, or you can watch Gods Go Pew Pew on your laptop or other compatible devices.
We've been waiting a little while to see what happens when these Gods Go Pew Pew, and I think most players are going to be happy with what Sneaky Slots can accomplish when they put their mind to it. We've already seen a couple of decent games from this developer, and this one shows that they're prepared to keep pushing things forward and not rest on previous successes. Give it a spin and enjoy!
