Nip Tuck Review

A shiny set of gnashers, an extra-tight forehead, or perhaps some bigger lips might be your idea of redeveloping yourself, but it's going to cost some cash. That's where Nip Tuck comes in with its 10,000x max win that might be enough to pay to have a few wrinkles ironed out.

Gameplay & Features

There is a slight confusion as you begin the game, but it soon becomes clear that everything is based on some very logical mathematics. There are 30 paylines, and you'll find wins coming from low-paying letter symbols and some slightly more graphic pictures, which can fetch you up to 25x.

There are wild symbols, multipliers and big symbols available, but you'll need a scanner to arrive before you feel these benefits. If the scanner lands on the same reel as one of the special symbols, it unleashes a little potential, but you'll only see these modifiers making their way horizontally across the top of the game area.

Bonus Games

There are two bonus games to watch out for, and they go by the names of Free Skins and Lock & Load. You need three scatter symbols to unlock the option to choose between either of these bonus games.

The Free Skins game offers a second assembly line with extra modifiers, and you'll have seven free spins. There is a super version with a persistent multiplier tag. The Lock & Load bonus reveals three face segments, where you collect receipts that you can cash out for a prize at the end. The super version gives you higher values on the receipts.

Outside the UK, you can play either of the bonus games for 100x or the super versions for 500x.

Assembly Line

This horizontal reel moves modifiers from left to right with benefits including wild symbols, multipliers and large symbols. A scanner symbol needs to land on the main game area and correspond with the position of the modifier above to trigger the additional modification.

Bonus Choice

You can choose between 7 free spins or have a go at the Lock & Load bonus. You need three scatter symbols to trigger the choice, and with the free spins game, you get an additional assembly line with modifiers. A super version can deliver a persistent multiplier tag. The Lock & Load game has three segments, and each one offers a modifier. Receipt symbols, along with collectors, stay until the end of the feature to reveal your prizes.

Win Potential

A 10,000x max win doesn't sound like a bad deal, but you are going to battle fiercely with this high volatility. I saw the occasional small win, and then 12x landed in my balance – that kind of fits with the volatile setup. However, it would have been nice to see the scanners appear more often to trigger those modifiers. The bonus games can take a while to turn up, but when they do, at least you have a choice, which adds extra entertainment value.

Design

You can see a little bit of Nolimit City in this creation, and that's no surprise given how close these two studios are. It's a very satirical look at the world of cosmetic surgery with some rather clever and obvious graphics, instead of anything too artistically detailed. It looks good on all devices, including mobile phones, and the soundtrack is fairly easy on the ears.

Our Verdict

This is my first Sneaky Slots review, and I've got to be honest, it wasn't my favourite slot this week. It's a strong start, but the modifiers need to appear a little more often, regardless of the financial returns, if this developer is going to compete with other studios in the Evolution group. Still, not a bad game though!
