Cheezy, Mollusk, and Bronald are the three main characters in this game, and at some point, they can all pick up wins anywhere on the grid and defy the regular payline mechanic. Character symbols have hidden multipliers under their towels, and the bonus game starts a punch up of epic proportions.
Matching symbols simply need to land on adjacent reels, and in return for a group of three, four, or five matching symbols, you can grab a win worth up to 2x. The three main characters don't need to conform to the payline system, and as long as three of these land anywhere on the grid, you grab a win.
A group of five of the highest-paying characters will get you 30x. Strangely, Bronald is not the heaviest hitter, but he might drop his towel and give you a boost!
This feature round consists of five free spins, and one character is selected as the current champion and carries the belt. If more than three symbols appear and multiple characters are on the set, then a fight starts.
Each fighter has a number of hearts that corresponds to the number of symbols on the grid and a multiplier. If there is a successful hit, the opponent loses a heart, but if it's blocked, then nothing happens.
Current Champions can land a hit and the belt multiplier will increase until finally the fighters lose all their lives and are knocked out. If the champion gets knocked out, then the opponent takes over. The final winning character picks up the belt multiplier and you land your win. The super version of the game will get you 10 free spins.
The three main characters can land at any time during both the base game and free spins bonus. Throughout the main part of the game, these three can pick up a win anywhere on the grid. This means that they don't need to be on adjacent reels to land you a win worth up to 30x, and they might give a multiplier too.
Three bonus symbols will trigger this boxing match, and if you play the regular version, you get five free spins, but the super version is a group of 10 free spins. The game starts with a champion and he carries a multiplier belt. Fights will break out when more than three character symbols are revealed and at least two different types are on the grid. They punch each other to collect multipliers and potentially land you big wins.
There's no way of knowing if those character symbols are going to align at any point to bag you a big win anywhere on the grid, but if it happens, then your balance may well see some sizable increases. The character symbols become far more valuable during the bonus round and if the fight carries on long enough, then that final multiplier could be substantial. It's anyone's guess as to how long it will take to find some lucky player who lands a 20,000x jab, but we're keeping everything crossed.
I love the Mortal Bromance design, and the developer couldn't have done much more. The three characters are going to cause a great deal of offence, and I wouldn't be surprised if you hear someone talking about this on Truth Social at some point. It all takes place in the locker room at the start of the show, and if you're lucky enough to trigger the bonus game, then you'll be making your way out of there and into the boxing ring. Just watch out for the odd towel drop!
Behind all of this craziness is a collection of very powerful features that can send the bonus round into a frenzy at any moment. It's great fun to watch and the results are often superb. On more than one occasion, I walked off with over 200x from this brawl, and my best win was 1142x!
