Here to poke some fun at the Great American public and one of their most modern traditions is Shady Lady with Black Friday. You'll see many a mobility scooter skid its way across these reels, along with knife-yielding patriots and some sharp-shooting hicks. There’s a massive 20,000x max win up for grabs and all the cheap laughs you can muster in this latest slot release from a developer who is working tirelessly to cause some blushes!
Full review continued below ↓WTF seems like a running theme for this developer! There's nothing they'll shy away from and nobody is safe from their candid creations. In this game, even Donald Trump comes under fire, along with a few other unscrupulous characters that seem like fair game when it comes to taking a cheap dig at their character flaws. In terms of slot mechanics, this one seems pretty simple and when it comes to max wins, this is big!
The payline structure isn't anything to get excited about with just 30 fixed paylines and across these, you can pick up wins worth up to 20x when you get a group of five Karens or wild symbols. Low-paying symbols shun the use of royals and are instead represented by toilet rolls and other low-value shopping goods.
Standard wins receive a boost from a little road rage and this comes in the shape of some angry security guards, activists and a well-known politician who likes to bang on about tariffs. The feature in question is called road rage respins and this can trigger whenever one of the three special characters lines up on the screen.
A vehicle will appear on the grid and unceremoniously obliterate them before making the reel wild. Each car behaves in its own way and this means more positions get covered by wilds, depending on the size of the vehicle.
When the car has finished disposing of the special character, a respin is awarded and the car symbol nudges down one position.
There is some additional fun and potential wins to be found during the parking lot stampede and this happens during the base game. It'll trigger randomly and all low-value symbols get removed.
The bonus round comes in a standard format or a super one and these require three or four scatter symbols.
You don't get a fixed number of spins and the game simply continues until the characters are pushed off the grid. With each spin, a new character can land at the top of the reel and each one carries values awarded when the character is eliminated.
Each of the three screens can land special symbols with the first two offering boosters to raise coin values or add multipliers to weapons. The third reel can reveal a weapon. As the characters disappear, you get the coin values and then any multipliers that were brought on by the special symbols is applied.
At any point, you might see a fight break out and only one character can survive. The result is that the values are passed from one character to the other. My favourite is the Karen who can appear and cover two reels, bringing up to 2,000x.
The super version gives you everything that you've just seen but the special screens don't show any blanks.
You can buy boosters to improve your chances of triggering the bonus game and for 25x, you can get the road rage respins. Bonus games can be bought directly from outside the UK and these range in value from 85x to 1,596x.
At any point during the base game spins, a car might appear and run over one of the special characters. Either a policeman, a protester or a politician will be squashed and this will result in wild symbols filling the reel. The amount of wilds you get will depend on the size of the car that creates the havoc. Respins then see the cars move downwards, taking the wilds with them.
The regular free spins bonus triggers when three scatter symbols land on the reels. In return, you get to play until one or more characters are pushed below the grid and with each spin, new characters can land. Characters bring a coin value that's awarded if they eventually get removed from the grid. Various weapons and other modifiers are shown on the TV monitors and these will help boost your payouts. The super version ensures that those screens never show a blank result.
The win potential is crazy at times during this game and even in the base game, you can see wilds offering large winning combos. To get the best from this creation, you need to make it into one of the bonus games and if possible, shoot Karen in the head! This can bring some amazing results and potentially take your balance all the way up to 20,000x.
Some of you will be mildly disgusted with this creation and others will laugh heartily for a long time. These undesirable customers are determined to make their way into the store and grab some deals at any cost and that just makes the whole situation incredibly amusing – in my opinion!
Everybody knows one of these characters or has at least seen them in a movie at some point and you’ll have very little sympathy for them. The banjo music creates a frenzied bonus experience and some of the additional imagery is among the best in the business. Try not to be offended on everyone else's behalf and enjoy this game for what it is on your mobile or any other compatible device!
Shady Lady hasn't been on my radar for very long but I can promise you that a lot more of their creations will be entering our review process soon.
