You pick up wins in this game in a cluster pays formation with five or more matching symbols joining together. The biggest payout is worth 100x for 12 or more matching symbols.
When a win takes place, regular pay symbols of the matching type will disappear, and new ones will fill the spaces.
Squares behind the winning symbols turn golden, and if a rainbow lands on the grid, it will activate those squares. Activated squares will bring you coins, clovers and buckets. The coins are worth up to 500x, the clovers apply multipliers, and buckets collect coin values together.
Three, four or five scatter symbols take you off to play 10 free spins, and during the basic game, you see progressive golden squares that remain until rainbow symbols activate them. There's a big catch bar, and this can bring you to a new level. Rainbow symbols can convert into green clovers, global buckets and gold clovers. You can also pick up extra free spins.
The second bonus game is much the same, but the golden squares stick around even after they are activated. The final feature is all of the above, and the Big Catch bar starts at level 4.

Some of the regular cluster wins were surprisingly decent during the base game, and when the occasional gold frame picked up some coins, they were quite attractive. The additional modifiers could improve those wins, and thanks to the progressive nature of those golden squares during the bonus game, you're more likely to find the 15,000x win at that point.
The main character hasn't changed, and he looks as angry as he always does to the right of the game area. He's obviously out on a fishing expedition and quite comically wears some armbands! The boat seems fairly steady, the grid is set in a nice wooden frame, and everything takes place out on a lake. The soundtrack is a little strange, given the theme, but I don't think anyone’s going to complain.
A lot is going on in Le Fisherman, and thanks to the lowish volatility, you should see it all taking place quite frequently. I found it possible to double my bets on several occasions, and the bonus games look quite generous for the most part. That's not to say that it will always be like that, but I'd suggest that you take it for a spin just in case.
