A standard win will come your way across 14 paylines, and the top prize to hope for is 10x. A set of wild symbols can also get you a 10x payout, and substitute for regular payers.
When a burning wild symbol lands on the grid, it will activate the symbols on the reel above, and low-paying symbols get transformed into wilds. When high-paying symbols get burnt, they are converted into burnt wilds. Burnt wilds are a cut above the rest because when they take part in the win, a multiplier value is added to all wins connected to it. More than one burnt multiplier can be involved in the same winning combo, and these are worth up to 200x.
3 or more free spins symbols will take you into the bonus round, where you can release the power of up to 18 free spins. You get a better chance of landing the burning wild symbols, and you can pick up extra free spins as you play.
With 4 scatter symbols, you get the addition of a wildfire bar located outside the game area, and this will help push you through different levels as you achieve a specific number of winning symbols. A cartoon take on a caveman making fire with a few dinosaurs dotted around is what you get in Grug Make Fire, but don't expect too much detail from any corner of the show. It's bright and colourful, and it's easy to work out what's happening – don't forget to look out for a little animation from those flames as they burn upwards to add multipliers. Personally, I preferred playing on my mobile phone, but I don't think it really matters what kind of tech you've got, as everyone can get involved if it's HTML5 compatible.
Grug Make Fire worried me a little from the start because it felt like we were heading back down the wild multiplier route once again with this developer. However, they've managed to pull it out of the bag with those burning wilds, and watching them transform these reels can have great consequences on your balance. I ended up 300x above where I started, and it generally feels like there's a lot of potential in this slot.
