Head out into the badlands with ELK Studios holding your hand. These guys have put together a wild west duel where multiplier figures fight it out to help your balance. Watch out for wanted posters as these can also add extra firepower to the reels.
These cowboys are ready to land you big prizes across a 6x5 set of reels. You won't be using the top reel voluntarily though, as this is reserved for a special feature. Regular wins are formed along 30 paylines with rewards starting on the left-hand reel.
A group of three matching symbols is the minimum requirement and up for six is a possibility. The royal symbols pay up to 1x and the picture symbols fetch up to 5x. Wild symbols will substitute for regular payers and saloon doors reveal a character symbol and a multiplier.
When shots are fired on the reels, a wanted poster appears above the reel where the shot lands and if there's a matching character below it, then it turns into a wild symbol. If a shot hits the metal saloon door, then a multiplier is added below and this can be worth up to 100x.
Two saloon doors landing at the same time or slightly out of position can bring you extra multipliers as the game nudges both doors to create a duel where one of the multiplier figures will prevail.
Three bonus symbols take you away to play the free spins game and you'll notice that each of these symbols carries up to two bullets. During the bonus game, these bullets are collected together in the barrel of a gun and once the barrel is full, you get extra free spins. During the bonus, you'll see the shots continue to fire out and duels can take place.
Players outside the UK can go straight to the bonus game for 100x and if they'd like to have a go at the super version, where all bonus symbols land with two bullets, the price is 500x.
Other options are available to produce a spin with a guaranteed duel, which costs 25x, and you'll see some shots fired for 10x. If anybody would like to make each spin more than 3 times more likely to land the bonus game, then this costs 3x your standard bet.
With the exception of the central saloon door area, shots fired on the other reels will add a portrait of one of the characters above the reel. If a character matches the wanted poster on the reel below, then it turns into a wild symbol. When shots hit one of the two saloon doors, the reels below get a multiplier value worth up to 100x.
If saloon doors land on the central two reels, a duel will begin between the two characters. Each character displays a multiplier value and the winner offers that multiplier to any wins that are formed. The character expands into a 2x3 symbol and wilds are added to the reels.
Three or more bonus symbols will fire you straight into the bonus game and each of these bonus symbols has up to two bullets on them. These are important as they are collected during the bonus round and each time six or more bullets are collected, you get an extra free spin, plus some shots fired on the reels. Wanted posters and multipliers continue to activate.
Standard wins probably won’t help your balance out too much unless you manage some huge combos here and there. Where the real value comes is thanks to the multiplier figures and wild symbols. Keep your fingers crossed for plenty of duels while you spin. The bonus game seems to make these features appear more often and you should hopefully see even bigger wins if you make it there. The max payout is 10,000x.
Even ELK Studios will struggle to create anything that doesn't look incredibly familiar when it comes to Wild West themes. They haven’t mixed things up and that's quite understandable. You've got The gallows displaying the reels below and each of the characters is suitably ugly! It is a well-detailed game and you can't fault the team for the effort they’ve put in. The soundtrack is, as always with this developer, easy to listen to and I didn’t feel like switching it off at any point.
ELK rarely puts a foot wrong and they've continued to tread steadily with this Deadeye release. There's enough variation in the setup to hold your attention and the big win potential is obvious at any point. It's not their best game to date but it's certainly worth checking out.
