Three-reel slots don't usually generate a huge amount of excitement, but I like to give them a go. This one has an incredible 99 paylines, and apparently, there's a Bottoms Up feature with an explosive wild blow. What the hell that means is anybody's guess!
From the outset, you get the impression that Esqueleto Explosivo has formed the inspiration for this game, with a series of skulls stacked on top of each other.
Grabbing a win requires a group of three or more matching symbols landing on one of these 99 vertical paylines. 5x is the top reward.
After a win forms, the winning symbols will explode, and new ones join in. At the same time, the multiplier increases up to 32x during the base game and 64x in the bonus game. Wild symbols substitute for regular symbols, and they also explode to make way for new symbols.
If you're lucky enough to see three scatter symbols, you'll pick up 10 free plays, and you can grab extras during the feature. For every three wild symbols that land, the lowest multiplier disappears, and you get an extra spin. Once you’ve collected 15 of them, you unlock a 64x multiplier.

At the base of the game area is a series of multipliers, and these will help improve your payouts, hopefully. It starts at x1, but once you land a win, it doubles to x2, and this can continue up to x32 during the base game. After a losing spin, the multiplier resets back to its original value.

I like the idea of the double multiplier trail, and we've seen it used to good effect in many games. However, the bonus game usually delivers a persistent multiplier in this case. Admittedly, you can improve the base multiplier value in the bonus, but you need to land lots of wild symbols. The bottom-up payline mechanic is essentially turning a regular slot machine on its side, but it's well disguised, and it adds a little extra innovation to the mix. The high volatility could be a drain on your resources, but it may also help you land that 5,000x max win.
As I mentioned before, there's a hint of a Thunderkick favourite with skulls stacked on top of each other and fun sound effects keeping the action moving at a decent pace. The vivid colour selection makes everything stand out, regardless of the device you're playing on, and the animations are as crisp as we've come to expect from this developer over the years.
Tutan Kha-Boom took my opinion on a strange journey because I saw lots on paper, slightly less in reality, but it all ended up feeling like more than it was!
