With an expanding game area and a couple of other modifiers available during the base game, I think I'm right to be quite excited about the win potential in this game. However, a lot of it is going to depend on the base game wins and the values of those regular symbols. We've seen AvatarUX fall short before in this respect – I hope it doesn't happen again.
Base game wins include low-paying symbols worth up to 0.8x and characters that can get you up to 30x. However, there is a big jump between the second-highest payer and the highest. The second highest will only get you 1x for landing a five of a kind win, so all but the most powerful symbol are a bit of a flop.
The power of these symbols is enhanced slightly by the wild symbol but these won't appear on the first or last reels. When they land, they substitute for regular payers and could create or enhance wins.
The better results may come your way if you can build up a series of wins that contribute to a meter at the top of the game area. You'll notice that there are four stages to this and all hits will add to the progress meter.
Two consecutive hits will reward and unlock one of the features until you get to the end, where you finally enter the bonus game. The first trigger is to upgrade your low-paying symbols and between one and six of these will be turned into high payers. The game area can then be expanded once during the base game or twice during the bonus game. The third stop is the wild throw where up to three wilds randomly appear on the reels. Finally, you trigger the bonus game where you get to play five free spins.
Five free spins doesn't sound like a lot but you can improve this by taking a spin on the gamble wheel. Each time you spin, you run the risk of losing all of your free spins but you could eventually boost your 5 free plays to 9.

Reel Warriors is another game that requires you to complete a process in order to see the best parts of the game. Other titles will make you win hundreds of times to get to the good bits but at least here you unlock something special with every two hits. The symbol wins are pitiful and I didn't find that the modifiers improve this much. Having persistent features during the bonus game is a bit of a plus but I'm still struggling to see where this 10,000x max win might come from.
There's a definite Mortal Kombat look and feel with your two warriors lined up on either side of the game area. They're ready to go into battle and some of the symbols represent their signature moves. Other symbols are made up of letters and at the top of the game area, we've already discovered that there are the modifier features. You can see how many win ways are available and this increases if the game area is extended.
Reel Warriors isn't offering anything to make it outshine the competition with some fairly standard features that you have to work hard to receive. The free spins bonus struggles to stand out from the crowd and the static game area won't deliver anything eye-catching. There is still the possibility of a 10,000x max win and that might be enough to encourage you towards the spin button.
