These three little piggy slots seem to be working out quite well for Light & Wonder, and they're back with another addition to the series with Huff N’ Even More Puff Hard Hat Edition. With previous examples like Huff N’ More Puff, you got jackpot prizes to watch out for, and there was also a bonus game with various features. Things have advanced a little since then, and the max win is a strangely specific 7,750x.

Huff N`Even More Puff Hard Hat Edition Review

In the last version of this game, we were treated to a wheel feature and free spins along with various involvement from both straw frames, mansions and mega hats! Things don't seem to have been dampened down this time with big wheels appearing behind the reel set and even more jackpots to play for.

Gameplay & Features

As you enter the game, you'll be wondering how to land a standard prize, and that happens when between 3 and 5 matching symbols drop on adjacent reels. The most enthusiastic payouts come from the pig in a suit with a 1.50x reward.

To help boost those prizes, you can see the wild symbol jump in and substitute.

Hard hats continuously land throughout the base game, and that's just as well given the game's title! As these appear, they head up to the top of the game area, and you'll see the wolf peering over the top of it.

Bonus Game

When six or more of the hard hat symbols land, they trigger the free spins bonus. A straw frame is added to each of the hat symbols that triggers the game, and they'll get you extra spins while you play. There's a chance that you could trigger the wheel feature as you spin for free as well.

There are loads of added extras where hard hats will develop into extra frames, and this means upgrades to the final prizes. Stick frames, straw frames, and all of the others develop into prizes worth between 0.50x and the top jackpot.

Before you play your free spins, a mega hat spin is played and this adds a straw frame to all of the positions that the mega hat covers. It is these symbols that can then be upgraded to improve your final wins.

If the wheel feature triggers, it'll be thanks to the buzzsaw, and this spins to trigger one of the free spins features with designated frames, or an instant jackpot prize.

Free Spins

The free spins feature comes in various formats, and they all sound a little bit convoluted. You'll hear names such as mansion, buzzsaw, megahat and others mentioned, but they only refer to the types of frames that land and how they upgrade. Moving through the different frame types will ensure bigger and better prizes by the end of your bonus.

Wheel Feature

Three or more scatter buzzsaw symbols without any gold ones landing during the base game will give you a spin on the special wheel. If it lands on one of the free spins features, then you head off and play your six free spins, but if it lands on a jackpot prize, you get an instant payout. The super prize is worth a magnificent 7,500x.

Win Potential

In my experience, most of the win potential was hidden away within the features in this game, and the base game felt like quite a difficult battle. If you can land enough hard hats, or randomly trigger the feature, you should be off to pick up some big enough prizes. And if you can get those frames to upgrade and if your initial hard hat is pretty big, then the sky's the limit! Picking up the super jackpot of 7,500x will just about cover the max win.

Design

Apart from the large wheel spinning around in the background, there's not much to separate this game from others in the series and the designers haven't had a very difficult job. It looks a bit clunky with all of the elements squeezed in together, and this is especially true on mobile phones. You'll learn to live with it, but I doubt you'll love it!

Our Verdict

Huff N`Even More Puff Hard Hat Edition doesn't really offer anything more than the last game did, apart from slightly different stats. The max win has grown a little bit, and you got a few more jackpots to play for as well. The wheel feature is still there, six free spins is still standard, and there’s just as much unnecessary information added to this game as there always was. Essentially, it still offers a great slot session if played at the right time, and the wins can be quite good.
