Frank's Diner feels like a dig at somebody, but I'm not quite sure who. I'm fairly certain that it's poking fun at some subsection of the American public, but it has an odd futuristic feel to it and all the graphics suggest that it's retro. I'm already confused and I haven't hit the spin button yet.
You have an interesting six-reel setup with four rows most of the time. This changes because some symbols can split. The regular payers will fetch you up to 3x and any of them can appear as a split symbol. Each cell can part an image into two or three and this will help improve the number of ways to win with that symbol.
Above the four central reels is a wild multiplier and this comes into play if a wild helps form a win. The multiplier on the corresponding reel is added to the payout and you get a respin.
The bonus goes by the name of Last Stand Spins and you'll need three bonus symbols to get you there. Ten free spins are yours and each time a wild respin takes place, the multiplier on the corresponding reel increases by one. This number doesn't reset during the bonus.
The bonus reels option costs you 10x your bet and all of the regular paying symbols are removed. It’s simply a chance to land three bonus symbols and enter the game potentially a little cheaper than the direct buy-in option, which costs 60x for players outside the UK.
Not all symbols are singular! To improve the number of win ways in the game, you'll be relying on some symbols splitting into two or three parts. A number appears on the cell to show you how many are available.

The base game potential is fairly good but only if those wild symbols turn up and add the multipliers. Without them, even the split symbol struggles to grab you a decent win. Moving into the bonus game is definitely a benefit because those multipliers don't reset after they grow, thanks to the wild respins. There's a max win of 10,000x but I imagine you'll be eating at this diner for an eternity before you see such a figure land in your lap.
As I mentioned before, I was confused about the direction in which this game was headed. After playing, I'm still just as confused. Frank's Diner is out in the middle of nowhere with an odd retro feel and some futuristic graphics. It's like Deliverance had a love child with Mad Max and you can watch it all unfold on your mobile phone, laptop or any other device.
Did I enjoy Frank's Diner? I think I did but my head still hurts a little from this odd display and weird soundtrack. It's a bit like watching a car crash – you're not quite sure why you're so morbidly fixated on it. There’s a chance to land some half decent prizes but I wouldn't be shelling out everything in your bankroll to try and grab the 10,000x max win if I were you. It is fun, quirky and different from most other games out there so based on that alone, I think you should give it a try.
