Money Train 2
Our Rating
The smell of sulfur is wafting through the sewer grate and the culprit seems quite easy to find. He's the one with the box of matches in his hands and a desire to provide dynamic ways to win prizes, free spins and various modifiers. 20,000x is the explosive top win that Fawkes looks to deliver in this latest release from Wicked Games.
Full review continued below ↓Political and religious arguments aside, we can all agree that this chap had some cojones! He didn't get away with it 400 years ago but he might just do it now. He's got an insane idea in his head that he can convert 4,096 win ways into over 5 million and even after all these years of reviewing slots, that's something I've never seen before.
There's something a little odd about this slot that's hard to put your finger on when you first start spinning. In general, you need matching symbols to land on adjacent reels and there are six of these to enjoy.
Wins are made up of royal symbols, which can pay up to 1x, and then there are some picture symbols, which pay up to 2x. Wild symbols substitute for those above and you'll also notice that there's an extra reel that provides the modifications.
Across this reel, which comes in from right to left, you'll find barrels and wilds which deliver the modifiers or potentially free spins. You might see regular wilds, split wilds or even wild multipliers. Fairly standard stuff there then. It's not exactly groundbreaking but it's providing a solid service.
Landing four free spins bonus symbols in that extra reel will provide you with 11 free plays. You can decide at this point if you want to be hanged or drawn! A depressing choice but both are a wild modifier that accompanies you through the bonus game.
Triggering the game with more than four bonus symbols will see slight enhancements with wild modifiers coming into play and a chance to see all three of the modifications hitting the reels.
For 2x your bet, you can make each spin more than three times more likely to trigger the bonus game and 75x will get players directly into the free spins bonus.
Across the bottom reel, there’s a chance to land barrels and bonus symbols. Bonus symbols can trigger the free spins game and barrels provide modifiers. There are three to look forward to with wild reels, split wilds and a chance to add random wilds with multipliers.
You need four or more bonus symbols to appear on that important gunpowder reel to trigger your hopes of an unsightly blast above the streets and also some free spins. The basic game is 11 free spins and a choice of two wild modifiers, but with more bonus symbols comes more modifications. They arrive in the form of the quartered wilds or maybe all three extras.
You may be a little disillusioned with the base game in the beginning, as the wins can start off quite small, but then the symbols start to split and you see how magical this idea can be. At this point, you realise that you could be on your way to seeing millions of combos taking place and your payouts can benefit massively. I saw over 30x come my way on three occasions. The bonus games bring a more intense wild modifier experience and if that medium volatility doesn't blow up in your face, then you could be on for a 20,000x max win.
The game begins with a fairly detailed history lesson, which leads you into the game proper. You'll see wild stacks of Fawkes hanging from time to time, along with various other symbols showing signs of the times. A few of the animations are slightly gruesome, but not too grotesque, as you see the poor chap’s neck get stretched a little. As he gets quartered, it's a different story and parts of his wild body get distributed across the game area. It doesn't look quite as impressive on a mobile phone screen but it's still perfectly playable.
Hanging and quartering is a fairly bleak way to provide wild symbols but I wouldn't expect anything less from Wicked Games! They’ve managed to use the theme and the modifiers together in a fun (depending on how you look at it) way and it makes a seamless move from a standard payline setup into what can be a ridiculous number of win ways as those symbols begin to split.
