Plenty of smashing and bashing should keep you entertained for the foreseeable as Fred and Oskar go to town on this game area. You have a ways mechanic picking up the regular wins and that means that matching symbols only need to land on adjacent reels.
A group of 3, 4, or 5 matching symbols will get you a prize. The lowest payers deliver up to 0.30x and the highest are worth up to 2x. These prizes are outshon by the game’s main feature, which is the cash stack.
Cash symbols can land at any point and they will expand upwards to cover the entire reel. Each of these cash stacks hold a multiplier of your base bet. They are worth between 1x and 10,000x and they can be added together if more than one cash stack is in view.
Once the stack expands, you might see Oskar or Fred attack the grid with a baseball bat and bring extra benefits. When Oskar bashes the game area, up to four symbols get removed and then you see cash symbols added to the empty positions. These symbols expand to cover the reel and bring multiplier values. Fred, will compress existing cash stacks and add additional multipliers on top to cover the new spaces.
There are three versions of the free spins bonus and they are all pretty much identical except that the benefits get a little better when more scatter symbols land. With three scatter symbols, you get 10 free spins, as you do with all bonus versions in this game, and you'll see the base game mechanics continue. The benefit here is that you have an increased chance of landing cash stacks.
Four bonus symbols will get you the same as the regular bonus but each cash stack is guaranteed to get a bash or a smash. The hidden bonus comes with five scatter symbols and in addition to the above, you're guaranteed to get a bash or smash from Fred or Oskar with each free spin.
You can make each spin five times more likely to trigger the bonus game by paying 3x your bet or if you'd like to take a spin with a guaranteed cash stack symbol, you'll need to pay 50x. It all begins with a cash symbol that can land on any of the reels. The symbol expands to the top of the game area and each place will reveal a multiplier worth between 1x and 10,000x. Multipliers on different reels can be added together to increase your win and if a cash symbol lands on the top space, it won't expand.
If there’s a cash stack on the grid, Oskar or Fred may activate and reveal a smash or a bash. With the bash, between 1 and 4 symbols get added to the empty positions and they turn into a cash stack. If a smash occurs, cash stacks on the grid get compressed and extra symbols fill up the new spaces with more cash.
Three bonus scatter symbols will get you 10 free spins and you now have a much better chance of landing cash stacks. The base game mechanics continue and you can pick up extra free spins. With four bonus symbols, at least one bash or smash will take place when a cash stack lands and if you enter the game with five bonus symbols, you get all of the above plus a guaranteed bash and smash with each spin.
The regular base game wins didn't help my balance in the slightest due to their low values, so it was a waiting game, watching out for those cash stacks. You need them to land regularly to have any chance of triggering decent returns. Thankfully, I found that I hit one quite often and once the smashing began, I saw over 40x land in my balance. Moving into the bonus game should improve your chances of hitting bigger payouts but it's not guaranteed. The 10,000x win is achievable at any point during the game and you might even see it occur with one cash stack.
Fred and Oskar are not exactly criminal masterminds – they take on a more comedic role of villains who couldn't make it as baseball stars and turned to a life of petty theft instead. It's a fun setup with both characters waiting patiently to bash the hell out of this game area on a range of devices, including mobile phones. The hip-hop soundtrack works well with a theme and it sounds great too.
Bash Bros does a good job of finding innovative ways to sneak multipliers into a regular slot setup. It doesn't feel like the same old mechanic under a different name. For me, big wins took place quite frequently thanks to the modifier that keeps building on the existing modifier and that's always good news for your balance.
