What on earth is going on in Backstreet Wilds? That's exactly what we're here to find out but don't expect an easy ride with such weird, mutated fruits threatening to spraypaint obscenities all over the place. Officially, the symbols have been recalled and they are no longer fit for purpose. Let's just hope that doesn't mean they can't land and bring you big wins. By the looks of things, multipliers, wilds and free spins are going to be extremely important here.

A quick glance at the rules tells me that there are 15 fixed paylines, wild symbols, multipliers, walking wilds and a bonus trail that can offer different types of spins and respins. It's got it all going on!
Choose your bet amount and let the spin button do the rest. That's pretty much what you need to know to take your first spin and then watch as some wild happenings erupt on this grid. There are 15 ways to win and you do this by landing groups of three, four, five or six matching symbols.
The low-paying royals deliver up to 1.50x but the old fruits might pay up to 30x. Other symbols include wilds, walking wilds, wild multipliers and various bonus scatters.
Wild symbols are fairly self-explanatory and wild multipliers rarely require much information either. They substitute for regular payers and sometimes they can reveal a multiplier worth between 2x and 5x. These multipliers are applied to every winning combo that they form part of.
Walking wilds are a little special because they spray up, down, left and right in a straight line. Between one and three positions get revealed as a wild symbol, and might get upgraded to multiplier wilds.
The bonus trail appears when bonus symbols land. One scatter symbol activates the trail and the rewards get better as you collect more scatter symbols. Two scatter symbols give you a respin, three of them get you entry to the free spins bonus, four deliver the super free spins and five will produce a mega version of the free spins feature. You might also receive an enhancer respin and this will either remove low-paying symbols, turn random reels wild, add walking wilds or guarantee a third scatter symbol to trigger the bonus game.
Three or more scatter symbols are required to trigger the bonus round or you can get there via the enhancer respin and bonus trail. If you enter with three scatters, you get one enhancer, four scatters give you two enhancers and five scatters will award you three. Wild symbols occur with every spin in this feature and you can collect extra spins as you play.
Outside the UK, 90x will buy you 8 free spins with one active enhancer and 360x will activate enhancers. 200x is the cost if you'd like to have a bit of a gamble and see a mystery number of enhancers.
One or more scatter symbols will activate the bonus trail and you get better features as you collect more symbols. At the end of your spin, you could end up with two scatter symbols with a respin or potentially activate the bonus game. There's also a chance that you could enter super and mega versions of the bonus from here.
3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols will get you eight free spins and 1, 2 or 3 enhancers, respectively. Wild symbols are guaranteed to land with each spin and you can collect extra spins thanks to the bonus trail. Along with this, active enhancers get upgraded. Two random wild reels may appear and a minimum of four walking wilds could be on the cards.
It feels like there's a lot going on and it should have the potential to land you big wins quite regularly, but this will depend on how often the modifications turn up. Regular wins aren't going to help your balance very much and my experience was that I mainly saw a few wilds landing here and there. I think the high volatility has taken over this game and you're going to have to potentially spin for a while to see exactly what it's made of.
The game's design is just as odd as the set of features and angry-looking fruits seem to make up the majority of the imagery. I don't know where the idea came from and perhaps sometimes it's best not to ask. I should point out that I love the soundtrack and it got even better as the free spins bonus triggered.
You won't regret playing Backstreet Wilds because it's probably something that everybody should try at least once in their lives! This is one of those rare occasions where I can't work out if a game is genius or completely underwhelming. I'm going to have to leave it open for you to decide for yourselves.
