I'm pretty sure I've never experienced any Dragon Evolution or Archfire before, so I'm looking forward to this one. It all looks very intense, and just reading about this game gets you in the mood for a little fire-breathing fun. This one takes place high above the clouds, and there's a new king in town, looking to set the standard for slot spinning wins.
The big wins seem to be heavily reliant on the dragon wild symbols, but let's not forget that there are some standard payouts to look forward to as well. The royal symbols will return half your bet for a group of five, and the chest symbols can pay up to 15x.
Each time a dragon wild symbol lands, it begins to fill up the progress bar at the top of the game area. For 30, 60 or 90 gold coins, you move through the three stages. Once you've completed the first stage, you'll see dragon wilds grow to 1x2, a multiplier of x2 is applied, and the wild becomes sticky.
Stage 2 is fairly similar, but the dragon symbol is now 1x3, and the symbol multiplier pushes 2x3. Stage three sees free spins symbols added to the reels and a slightly larger dragon wild.
The Archfire feature triggers randomly when a dragon wild is present on the reels and no win takes place. This can ignite the reels and make a clone of itself to produce wins.
The free spins bonus requires three or more scatter symbols, and if you can hit four or five, then things get a little better. You start with 7 free spins, and you can grab an extra two for each scatter symbol during the bonus game. If there is no wild symbol present, you'll get one on reel three and triggering with four or five scatters means you get a 10x or 25x starting multiplier. Dragon wilds remain until the end of the bonus. Outside the UK, the basic free spins will cost 80x, the four scatter version costs 160x and 5 scatters will cost you 300x.
You need 30, 60 or 90 gold coins to move you through the various stages of this evolution. The progress bar sits above the reels, and gold coins are collected to push the bar along. As you complete the first stage, the dragon wild symbol grows, gets a multiplier, and sticks. Stage two means a bigger wild dragon and a larger multiplier. Stage 3 increases the dragon wild and free spins symbols are added to the reels. After completing all three stages, you'll get over one thousand ways to win.
Three or more bonus scatter symbols will return 7 free spins and an extra two for each additional scatter symbol that lands during the game. The dragon wild will appear on reel three, and if you trigger with four or five scatters, you get a starting multiplier of 10x or 25x. The base game was a little slow to respond in my experience, but I did pick up a few wins worth over 20x, and the volatility is very high, so watch out. The bonus game is undoubtedly where the developer is trying to herd the players, and outside the UK, this can be done at a price. The wild multiplier sitting there throughout your bonus spins could prove to be extremely beneficial, and you never know, it might help you make a dent in that 20,000x max win.
