This developer might be a little bit predictable in recent months with various ways of handing out wilds and multipliers, but at least they're inventive about how they approach the simple mechanics. It seems logical that aliens would feature eventually!
In this game, you've got a big grid filled with paying symbols that command wins across 19 paylines, and the payouts are worth up to 50x. The four alien symbols above the reels are connected by their colour to the area below, and when aliens land, they can be beamed up to the mothership and grab you multipliers worth between 2x and 200x. These symbols are also wild and will substitute for the regular paying symbols.
The free spins bonus can be yours for 100x, but that's only if you're playing outside the UK. The alternative method of reaching this bonus round is to watch three scatter symbols land at the same time. In return, you'll get 10 free spins, and you have a better chance of dropping the alien symbols.
The more advanced game is similar, but you'll also see alien symbols activate even if they can't form a win. It will also expand regardless of which of the reels it lands on.
You've got some UFOs above the game area, and when an alien symbol lands on the appropriate reel, it might expand and add a multiplier worth up to 200x. Aliens need to match the colour of their spaceships, and they'll only expand if there's a chance that they can create a win by acting as a wild at some point on that reel. The first is an exact extension of the base game mechanic, but you've got a better chance of landing the alien symbols. With four scatter symbols, you see aliens activate all over the grid as they become less fussy about which spaceship they choose. As long as it's part of at least one winning combo when it expands, it will come out to play.
On paper, you've got medium-high volatility and a max win of 15,000x. In practice, you could still get there, but it might take a while. Needing to line up the aliens on the correct reels does restrict the mechanic slightly, but it makes it worth waiting for, as the consequences are generally quite generous. I triggered the free spins bonus a couple of times as I played, and at the end of my extended session with this slot, my balance was very close to where it started.
A couple of crazy characters are usually present in slots by this developer, and this time it's the turn of a tin hat-wearing farmer and an FBI agent investigating some suspicious activity.
