If you've never played Mahjong before, think of it like an oriental game of solitaire. The concept is different in this slot though, because these tiles aren't stacked on top of each other. Slight differences apart, you get the idea with matching symbols lining up on adjacent reels, and the free spins bonus should enhance all of the payout potential with bonus coins valued at up to 100,000x.
As you know, you need matching symbols to fall on adjacent reels to pick up a prize, and the best you can hope for is a 2x payout. As wins are recorded, winning symbols disappear and new ones join in.
On any spin, gold symbols can appear and they will turn into wilds when they take part in a win. During the base game, a win multiplier is applied to all payouts and this is worth up to 5x.
As you land a win, the multiplier will grow, and the better value is then applied to your future wins. After a losing spin, it resets to x1.
You can play some free spins when any of the bonus coin symbols land and trigger the feature. Wins start with a 2x multiplier and it goes up to 10x. The multiplier goes back to 2x at the end of the winning tumble. Reels associated with the pot that triggered this game are active, and any symbols that land on them are marked in gold. Gold symbols will turn into wilds.
Bonus coin symbols that didn't help trigger the feature might land and get collected in their respective areas. The feature may then be retriggered and extra spins are awarded. The bonus coins carry values worth between 10x and 100,000x.
When you land a win during the base game, you pick up an increasing multiplier that grows as more wins land. Winning symbols disappear, new ones join, and the multiplier grows up to a maximum of 5x. The multiplier will remain at 5x for all subsequent wins after the fourth tumble, and once you hit a losing spin, the multiplier resets.
Triggering the free spins bonus not only grants you a chance to play eight free spins. Depending on the bonus coin that triggers the game, you might land a 100,000x multiplier and hit the game's max payout in one go! For the rest of us, the free spins bonus will start with the 2x multiplier, and this grows up to a maximum of 10x. Other bonus symbols can land and add new spins to retrigger the feature.
The win potential is hiding in two distinct areas in this game – the multipliers and the bonus symbols. If you're lucky enough to see a huge multiplier on a bonus symbol that triggers the feature, then you could be in for the game's amazing 100,000x max win. However, I didn't see anything like that landing during my spins. In fact, I struggled to watch anything higher than 10x come my way. The volatility setting is medium, and that makes it feel even less likely that a crazy win is going to develop.
Mahjong tiles are fairly predictably the main attraction in this game, with them acting as symbols that drop down onto the reels. Various gold coins and other Oriental paraphernalia are scattered around the game area, and there’s a dragon surrounding the logo as well. Whether you choose to play on your mobile phone or a larger device, the results are much the same, and it's quite a stereotypical Far Eastern thought process that's been followed here.
Mahjong Wins Triple Pot is a bit of a break from the norm in that it's gone for these mahjong-based symbols rather than royals and other expected imagery. It works well with the theme of growing multipliers, and it works the triple pot mechanic quite nicely as well. It's nothing out of the ordinary, but it is still a fairly solid effort.
