There's nothing normal about this game, and there's something quite disturbing about watching a marshmallow get toasted and eventually all his teeth fall out. Some of you might think that's a step too far, but others may thoroughly enjoy it!
With each spin, you begin to count down the WildSurge feature, and after the first 50 spins have gone, you unlock the basic level.
The regular version forms a zone of wilds, and the next step up can add additional wild symbols. Up next is a reel of stacked wilds, and then up to 3 rows can convert into wilds. Eventually, low-value symbols are removed, and the final stop is to see all positions turned into wild symbols that might have multipliers of up to x10 added to them.
As expected, the wild symbols will substitute for regular payout symbols, and landing jackpot tokens will increase the value of the prizes, which can push the mega pot up to 5,000x.
You can trigger the LockNWin free spins by hitting red, green, yellow or pink bonus symbols, and each pot has a specific number of spins and up zones available. Coin symbols now appear and if they drop on the grid, they'll bring a value worth up to 100x your bet. The up zones are highlighted positions, and when the coins land on them, you get a spin on the top row, which can collect, boost, multiply and more.
This feature is at the heart of the action, presenting a counter that goes from 50 to 0 as you start playing. Once you've achieved your first step up the ladder, you can start releasing wild symbols onto the grid. Things get better as entire reels and rows join in, and you might even see multipliers taking the action to new heights.
The basic idea is to drop coins onto the game area and pick up instant cash prizes worth up to 100x your bet. However, if those coins land in an upzone, you spin the top row, create new up zones and pick up bonuses. You might collect coins, increase coin values, multiply coins, add extra coins, trigger the jackpot game and expand the funtastic zone!
Where do you start with the win potential in a game like Smore Mallows WildSurge? It's hard to pinpoint one moment that could be more beneficial than another, but for me, it was all about those wild symbols during the base game. The bonus game could well see your balance grow substantially, and if you can hit the mega jackpot at its peak, you'll have the 5,000x max win in your pocket. Personally, I struggled to get anything over 50x, but it was fun trying!
Toasting this poor little marshmallow and watching his teeth fall out is a little sick, but anyone with a slightly warped sense of humour will probably enjoy it! Other mallows sit at the top of the game area waiting to collect the bonus tokens, and everything has its own individual animation. It might not be a visual masterpiece, but it's fun to play on your mobile phone and other compatible devices.
I approached Smore Mallows WildSurge with a little trepidation, and I was worried that this was just another way of getting me to keep spinning and hopefully unlock the wild features. Essentially, that is the idea, but it doesn't feel like a relentless slog as you try to unleash the WildSurge. Every part of this adventure has its own benefit, and you certainly won't find any dull moments while you spin these reels.
