Pulled from the Deep Review

Light & Wonder is responsible for releasing games for many fantastic slots studios, and Bang Bang Gaming is just one of them. Pulled from the Deep comes your way with an UltraNudge feature that brings mysterious creatures to your boat, and hopefully into your balance. Get on board and see if the CashWays and Keys to the Deep can land you 5,606x.

Gameplay & Features

As the fun begins, you have a 6x4 game area, and this is capable of providing 40 payllines, but this can change during the bonus game though. When wins include a wild, the UltraNudge feature begins, and all symbols start to move down by one position.

You'll also collect the fishy cash symbols as the reels nudge, and three or more of these landing consecutively from left to right will award the cash prizes shown on them. If you can string this out to the final reel and find a jackpot lurking there, you'll grab that too.

Bonus Game

Ordinarily, you need three bonus symbols to land to grab 12 free spins, but outside the UK, this can happen if players are happy to pay out 75x for the privilege. A super version of the game is available for 200x, and this means that you'll start with the maximum reel size.

The game begins on a 6x5 grid, if you're playing the regular version, and there are three locked rows above. When bonus symbols land on the last reel, a row gets unlocked, and two more free spins come your way. This continues until all rows are unlocked, and at that point, you'll have a maximum of 120 paylines.

Fishy CashWays

These symbols can land anywhere on the grid, and if three or more of them hit from left to right, you pick up the prizes shown on the symbols. The jackpots can fall on the last reel, and they'll be yours if they pick up the tail end of a fishy cash win.

Free Spins

Three or more bonus symbols will take you away to enjoy 12 free spins. This feature is called Keys to the Deep, and it starts with a grid that is 6x5 in size, and there are three locked rows above the game area. When bonus symbols land on the sixth reel, you unlock a row, and you get an extra couple of free spins as well. All wins will start the UltraNudge feature.

Win Potential

The regular wins were fairly small during the base game with top payouts worth up to 5x, but they didn't land very often. Most of the time, it was the royals, and these need the maximum group of six to just return your base bet. The modifications and features didn't turn up too often, and even with a few nudges here and there, I struggled to see where the gains were going to come from. However, remember that this is a high volatility slot, so a one-off windfall could come your way at any point, and with the jackpot prizes worth up to 2,500x, the game's max win of just over 5,000x might not be out of the question for everyone.

Design

In theory, there's plenty going on down there in Pulled from the Deep, and it's all very fishy! A few rocks and reefs jut out from the sides, and there’s discarded fishing memorabilia that make up some of the finer details. It's quite a large grid that gets even bigger if you make it towards the end of the free spins bonus, and this can be a little difficult to focus on with a smaller mobile phone screen. There's a subtle sea shanty looping around in the background, but the sound effects are quite abrupt.

Our Verdict

Pulled from the Deep promises to wow you with the UltraNudge feature, and true to their word, I did see this unfold a few times. However, they failed to bring any decent wins my way, and the bonus game seemed like it was miles away. When this mixes together with very small base game wins and a slightly generic underwater design, you begin to see where I lost a little interest for this game. There's plenty going on, but it doesn't ultimately deliver, unfortunately. You might have better luck though.
