Things are obviously going well for this raccoon and his adventures go from strength to strength. There's no sign of him handing himself in at any point and you should probably expect to see this series grow rapidly over the next few months.
This game works with a cluster pays mechanic and you'll need five or more connecting symbols to pick up a prize. If you get a big enough group, you could have a win worth up to 200x. Wild symbols substitute for regular payers and if they take part in a win, they turn into a revolver symbol.
Winning symbols disappear along with any other matching symbols on the grid and the revolver shows a number of bullets. Between two and six shots are fired and this creates special symbols. You might find coins with values worth up to 100x or diamonds, which pay up to 500x. Clover symbols multiply the coin value and loot bags will act as a collector.
There are three versions of the bonus game and you can reach these by initially landing three scatter symbols. Players outside the UK can pay 65x for the same outcome. At this point, you can gamble to try and get an upgraded version.
The standard free spins game gives you a better chance of landing those revolver symbols and the upgraded version gives you a bullet collector. When these activate, Smokey fires some shots and reveals more coins, diamonds, clovers and loot bags.
A hidden version can be upgraded from the second free spins bonus or by landing five scatter symbols. In addition to all of the above, bullet collectors continue to collect wins and silver coins are the lowest type that can appear.
If a wild takes part in a win, it transfers into a revolver symbol. These fire up to six shots and create special symbols. You could get coins, which are worth up to 500x and these might receive a multiplier thanks to a clover symbol. Loot bag symbols will collect all the coin values together and reload symbols will recharge with up to six shots.
Three bonus symbols get you 10 free spins and you can either play the standard version or gamble. The standard game gives you an increased chance of landing revolver symbols and if you gamble, you might have a bonus upgrade or cash prize. The upgraded game is also activated with four scatter symbols and you see an extra bullet collector, which reveals more coins and other special prizes. There's also a hidden game which gives you all of the above and more!
Thanks to the friendly cluster pays mechanic, you can pick up wins all over the grid and these will be helped along by the wilds and the potential to reveal special symbols. If there are enough shots in your revolver, you might see some handy base game wins but these probably won't compare to those available in the bonus games. The added extras could see the occasional burst of fortune and you might just fire your way to a 25,000x win. I was lucky enough to see some big returns but they didn't come close to that figure.
It's a familiar view with Smokey gesticulating to the side of the game area, making the occasional amusing comment. His disguise is as farcical as ever and the comedy element continues to run nicely through the story. It's a big, bright grid that greets you and the backdrop is beautifully designed as always. It still looks good on mobile phones but if you want to really appreciate all the details, take a spin on a slightly larger screen.
Games in this series offer a range of mechanics, volatility, top wins and feature set. This makes each game feel fresh and worthy of its place, regardless of its predecessor. Hacksaw has uncovered something quite special thanks to Smokey and his antics but is it possible that things might get out of hand and the crowds deplete at some point? I don't think it'll happen for a while yet but there will come a time, I'm sure.
