I managed to land fairly straightforward and modest wins during the base game, but it is heavily reliant on forming continuous sets of clusters and hoping that those multipliers grow – this will all be dictated by the high volatility though. The game's 10,000x max win could drop thanks to those super scatter symbols; otherwise, you need to do it the hard way and wait for individual wins.
There's a little bit of Mario mixed into this new slot release, but it doesn't seem to infringe on any IP, as all of the characters are very nondescript, even though the banana skins can trip them up at any moment. The racing element isn't exactly prominent, other than the symbolic imagery, and the animations won't exactly get your engine revving. It would have been nice to have seen things get moving and somehow get these karts spinning around the grid, but it wasn't to be.
Kart Rush disappointed me a little from the beginning when I realised that I wasn't going to be racing around a fun Asian kart track anytime soon – no real attempt has been made to pull this setup in a different direction to help set it apart from any other standard slot, and that's a shame. As far as winning opportunities go, the game mechanics feel a little dated, but that multiplier can keep doubling and bring a substantial payout eventually.
