If you aren’t a fan of sitting and waiting to activate the double screen, then you can always bring it to life by paying a bit extra. Beyond that, there's a max version of the double screen and something called a power tap!
To begin, you need to get your balance growing, and to do this, you'll need between 3 and 5 matching symbols to land on one of the 15 predefined paylines. The highest payers are worth up to 10x and a group of 5 wilds can get you up to 20x.
The wild symbols can grow up to five x5 in size and add a random multiplier to the game, and the charge symbol will boost the wild multipliers by up to 10x.
There are 2 game grids, and they work independently of each other as separate 5x5 games. Bonus symbols will be combined across both screens to give you a better chance of hitting the free spins round. The left grid is always active, but you can unlock the right side after 2 bonus symbols land during the base game.

Unlocking that second screen isn't necessarily imperative if you want to see some decent wins. I regularly achieved a payout of 4x and above on just the first 5x5 grid. However, if you can get into the more advanced bonus games and witness the duplicate wild blocks expanding as you spin, you have a much better chance of reaching that 10,000x max win.
Hold the Phone doesn't go in for too much in the way of animation, apart from the spinning reels, the occasional bus and a cloud passing by in the background. It's a POV setup as the main character watches on while waiting for a bus, and the soundtrack is a bit odd, but it didn't offend me in any way. Naturally, you can play this game on your mobile as well.
It's nice to see developers coming up with something a little bit different, and this has happened on a couple of occasions of late by teams that work with Hacksaw. Hold the Phone comes from Backseat Gaming, and the idea of the separate screen and wild blocks does make a nice change. If you get into the bonus round, you finally jump on the bus, and that's where the bigger wins may occur.
