Some mysterious happenings are about to take place in this latest creation, and the good news is that it doesn't take too long to work out exactly what's occurred across these five reels. As you know, a regular win can appear when you land matching symbols across 18 paylines in this game. The lowest payers are the royals, and a group of five will return your base bet. The picture symbols get you a maximum of 7.50x.
Wild symbols will pay up to 10x and also substitute for regular payers. There are three types of wild, and they can appear at any time. The single wild can have multipliers worth up to 100x, the expanding wild grows a little larger than before, and the upgrading wild boosts the other two wilds during a respin feature. The boosts are worth up to 100x, and all wilds trigger a respin. Wilds become locked and further spins take place as more wilds land.
The free spins feature creates havoc with these reels when three bonus symbols land during a base game spin. You get 10 free games and the expanding wilds will cover the entire reel. You can grab extra free spins while you play, and if one of your triggering symbols is a super bonus symbol, then you witness an upgrade. The minimum value of the multipliers on the single and expanding wild is now 10x.
Outside the UK, players can buy directly into the bonus game for 100x. The super version will cost 500x.
Three types of wild symbols can appear and the first are fairly standard. The second kind is an expanding wild, and these will expand downwards from where they begin. Both types of wild have multipliers worth up to 100x and will also trigger a respin. The upgraded symbol will boost the multiplier values, and the respins continue until no more wilds land.
The bonus game comes your way when you land three scatter symbols during the base game. The biggest mystery for me was how my balance didn't seem to benefit from the wild respins for a heck of a long time. Eventually, the high volatility did allow me to take part in the feature section, but it was a marathon getting there. I picked up a few smaller wins worth around 5x, and thankfully, the bonus game wasn't too far behind. Here, I failed to get anywhere near the 25,000x max win, but a few of the results were noteworthy.
They've been told not to look up, but all of the characters in this game are defying the advice. It's a kind of 1950s UFO special with lots of green lights and an extraterrestrial space theme tune that keeps you entertained while you spin. Mobile phones can handle the display quite well, and you get a few added animations in the form of expanded wilds here and there. It's not a bad effort.
My Green & Wild returns were fairly disappointing for quite some time during this game, and my eventual total was quite a long way below the point where my balance entered this competition!
