A regular win occurs in 20 ways in this game and the best symbol is the wild, which maxes out at 20x. The game begins with your first feature unlock and each time you trigger a collect process, you'll unlock the next feature along the trail.
Watch out for cash symbols that have values worth up to 50x, as these can be picked up by the various loot symbols. You start with a regular collect, and then you move on to the boost before seeing the split, expand and cash max.
The boost applies values worth up to 100x, but these are not applied to the jackpots. Split symbols will split the cash values and duplicate their values, but once again, they can't do this to the jackpot prizes. Multi symbols will multiply a zombie or cash value, XLoot will collect all zombies and cash values on the reels, and the maxi collect will boost all existing cash values.
When you land a zombie symbol on the first reel and a collect symbol on the last, you get the Showdown feature where zombies and collect symbols expand to cover the reel, and you get three respins. The zombies can eat the cash values and increase their values by the prize that they remove. You reset your spins by landing special symbols.
When pot coins land and get sent off to their respective coloured pots, they might trigger power spins, and you can get more than 1 benefit added if 2 or more pots trigger.
Cash prizes land as a multiplier of your base bet and various parts of the grid now get affected by your boosters. You can see an expanded zone with the reel heights growing, split zones see cash value symbols split and duplicate, the boost zone will boost symbols in that area, and the cash max zone will make sure that new cash values landing in that zone match the value of the highest cash symbol on the board.
Landing collect symbols will move you along the trail and add extra spins, plus multipliers also come along for the ride.
You start with the basic collect symbol that picks up cash values, and these are worth up to 50x. Once you've achieved this first goal, you can then see prize boost, split, multi-collect, loot collect and maxi collect. All of these will provide bigger and better benefits as you advance.
You can trigger the second bonus game with up to 12 power spins, and now you see various multipliers land on the grid, which are manipulated by the various triggering zones. Some areas will expand, others will split, boosts can occur, and the cash max zone will take the value of the highest cash symbol on the board and apply it to the entire zone.
There is plenty of potential lurking behind these cash symbols and loot collect mechanics, and when you tie that all together with the jackpot prizes and bonus spins, it all starts to look rather favourable! It can take a while to get things moving, but the hit rate is pretty good, and you should see some regular payouts along the way. I didn't watch the 5,000x win land in my balance, but I did hit over 30x on several occasions.
Granny vs Zombies 2 manages to appeal to a wide audience, despite this slightly gruesome theme, by keeping things light-hearted. There's nothing terribly dark and terrifying about this situation, and you should be able to have a laugh at this pensioner as she attacks various characters with her frying pan! The neon splats of goo look just as effective on mobile phones, and the 80s soundtrack works really well.
I'm a big fan of the original Granny vs Zombies slot, and this second instalment hasn't changed my mind at all. There are some different mechanics in play, but they aren't necessarily better or worse than those that you found during the prequel.
