Instead, it uses some more obvious characters that help bring these reels to life as they are modified to show a huge number of win ways. It's an interesting idea, but will it offer a lasting impression?
A flurry of feature action could be yours when you start spinning these reels but the first thing to watch out for is the standard base game win. You need matching symbols to land on adjacent reels and the most basic payouts are worth up to 0.50x – thanks to the royal symbols. Picture symbols will pay up to 4x.
Wild symbols can substitute for those mentioned above and you'll also see bonus and jackpot cereal symbols. They not only substitute for regular payers, but they can also increase the number of win ways by splitting some of the symbols. On reel two, the leprechaun can split two symbols in two ways and on reel three, the tiger can split four symbols in four ways. Reel four sees the monkey split three symbols in three ways.
The Cereal Bowl jackpot is a chance to land one of the four jackpot prizes and you'll need the Cereal overlay symbols to randomly trigger the game. You select from the doors that are available and you'll now find jackpot prizes and golden spoons. The regular base game wins won't offer much love with very small values struggling to keep your balance looking attractive. This is all improved by the number of win ways increasing, thanks to the split symbols and also the wild substituting for others. Cereal Killers is a strange concept that uses some angry characters that are debatably terrifying to form the main part of this theme. They can help initiate one of the slot’s features as they attack the cereal-based symbols below. The jackpot prizes stick to the left-hand side and you can make out everything perfectly on smaller mobile devices as well. The game’s soundtrack is quite fun and offers a little tension at the same time.
I like the idea behind Cereal Killers and the fact that they interact with one of the game’s features is always a nice touch that shows the developer is thinking about the theme beyond the visuals. I was disappointed with the symbol values as it meant that the game's features and modifiers need to appear far too regularly for my liking to assist your balance. It's a good idea that isn't perfectly executed, in my opinion. That said, there are four jackpot prizes available and one of those is worth a fantastic 1,250x.
