Brew Brothers Review

Watch out for Old Betty, the wild adder, that injects a little magic into this boosie adventure. The brew should flow freely, but that might be a problem if you need to keep your concentration and focus. There’s high volatility ready to bite you at any moment, and don't forget that Burst Mode, Fast Track and Xtra-Bet are all included.

Gameplay & Features

Brew Brothers shouldn’t leave you with a headache as you cast your eye over these five reels and four rows. You have some basic royal symbols and picture symbols, with the top payout worth up to 25x.

There are 40 paylines, and apart from the wild symbols, you aren't going to be scratching around desperately for instructions during this base game.

Old Betty is also a wild symbol, and these can activate extra wilds when they land. You could see up to nine wild symbols distributed, and they may also build up a multiplier if they land on top of each other.

Bonus Game

3 scatter symbols will award you seven free spins, and you now witness the Gold Betty symbol, which acts in a fairly similar way but remains sticky and can activate with each spin.

During the bonus game, you could fill the central 3 reels with wild symbols and activate the tractor. This will create a giant wild symbol and build up a multiplier.

Using the extra bet option makes each spin 2.5 times more likely to trigger the free spins bonus, but it will raise your base bet by 50%. Fast Track takes you straight to the free spins bonus for 90x. Other purchase options are available.

If you aren't worried about watching all the action take place, you can go for Burst Mode and play through several game rounds, which purely offers statistics along with a win or loss.

Old Betty

This wild symbol will substitute for regular symbols and add a little extra excitement to the game. When one lands, there's a chance that it will activate and add up to nine wild symbols across three of the reels. If a wild is added to an existing one, the multiplier starts to increase.

Free Spins

The free spins bonus game is yours to appreciate when three bonus symbols land and award you seven free plays. There is no way to retrigger this bonus game, but you can look forward to Old Betty turning up throughout. This symbol stays in place for the duration of the feature and can activate with every spin. You can also see giant wilds and multipliers.

Win Potential

They may seem fairly inconspicuous, but let me tell you that these wild symbols can be extremely beneficial. As Old Betty produces a burst of wild action, there's every chance that some of those 25x payouts may push you towards the 12,000x max win. I made my way into the bonus game several times, and with Gold Betty present, I thought that the sky was the limit. Unfortunately, I struggled to land a win of over 50x throughout the feature action.

Design

Brew Brothers features a pair of hillbillies, creating their own moonshine with a fun banjo soundtrack. Despite the lack of civilisation in this area, it still seems like a fairly pleasant setting. Slotmill is renowned for creating an attractive slot, and they've continued that tradition with this game.

Our Verdict

You may well be tempted to take a spin on Brew Brothers with the possibility of multiplier wilds and some sticky wild distribution available. It's quite a simple idea, and it felt like the modifications were happy to appear quite regularly, despite the high volatility. You never know when this home brew might deliver something better than a banging headache. Give it a shot!
