Crypto is here to stay, and smart sites like Cloudbet got on board early. This cryptocurrency-first casino was launched in 2013, when Bitcoin was still in its infancy, which says something about Cloudbet’s bold and adventurous nature.
Cloudbet’s founder was inspired by writings attributed to Satoshi Nakamoto, which is the pseudonym used by the individual(s) responsible for developing Bitcoin. Since its launch, Cloudbet has gained a strong reputation as the place to go for crypto gambling.
There’s nothing like a good first impression, and the team behind Cloudbet seem to be aware of this! Landing on the site for the first time, it immediately became clear to me that a lot of work has gone into the site design.
There’s not exactly a theme to speak of, but there is a distinct visual aesthetic that brings everything together nicely. The site functions very smoothly and feels sleek and responsive. The landing page seems minimalistic and stripped-back, but once you get into the casino section, it’s actually very rich.
Here are a few of the main aspects that make Cloudbet stand out:
With over 2,500 games - most of which are slots - as well as an excellent sportsbook, those looking to wager Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin or others need look no further. There’s also a good range of developers here, with plenty of big names lending their slots and live games to Cloudbet’s library.
There are some huge network jackpots, including WowPot and Mega Moolah, so humongous wins are on the table. Promos include cashback on every bet, multiple rewards programs and various daily bonuses.
Sometimes crypto gets a bad rap, largely because of its association with illicit trading, but in reality, Cloudbet is as reliable as any casino. One of the ways that Cloudbet demonstrates this is by broadcasting the fact that it has a score of 4.5/5 on Trustpilot.
Cloudbet scores 8/10 for Games
Cloudbet’s site is divided into ‘Sports,’ ‘Casino’ and ‘More.’ Each of these categories has a drop-down menu that links to some of the more popular selections within. You can click on the main Sports or Casino category to find the full version of each, whereas the More menu leads to a few miscellaneous links. More on these later.
There’s also a vertical menu at the left of the page, which you can use to get around or leave closed and stick with the existing tabs. The tabs and menus overlap in terms of their purpose and their content, which could be mildly confusing, but it doesn’t take long to adjust. Either way, it’s generally easy to find what you’re looking for.
By also including the ‘My Casino’ and ‘Recently Played’ sections, Cloudbet makes navigation much easier for returning players, whilst offering a certain amount of customizability.
Note that the actual games available to you may differ slightly depending on which country or region you’re accessing the site from.
For those looking for slots that pay out the most, here's our pick of Cloudbet's highest RTP slots. These are the best high RTP slots available to play at Cloudbet for players, verified by Slot Gods:
Within the Casino section, I found a typical selection of tabs containing Cloudbet’s 2,500+ games. Also on this main ‘Lobby’ page is a horizontal menu of ‘Themes.’ The ability to sort games by theme, such as ‘Space,’ ‘Action,’ ‘Egyptian’ and more, is a really nice addition. I’m not sure why more casinos don’t include this!
Games are displayed along with useful information, including the developer and RTP. This is a nice touch, and I appreciate not having to go into game menus to find out things like this.
The ‘High Roller’ tab is first after the Lobby. Here are three horizontal menus, the first of which is for ‘High roller slots.’ These six games appear to be selected for - and helpfully labelled with - their high max wins. This says something about the site in general: Cloudbet will appeal to players with big bankrolls, as well as those with more modest ones.
The High Roller tab’s other two horizontal menus cover ‘High roller live’ and ‘High roller provably fair’ games, all with big five-figure max wins. The term ‘provably fair’ comes up quite a bit when exploring Cloudbet, and I’ll explain a bit more about this below.
The next tab along is ‘Featured,’ where I found a selection of 20 games. This category isn’t restricted to slots. There are a few well-known and popular titles from the likes of Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming, Spinomenal and some other great developers.
At the time of my visit, there were a few Megaways titles in the Featured section too, suggesting that these may be popular with Cloudbet players. This tab seems to take the place of a ‘Popular’ one.
The only other slots-related tab is the very broad ‘Slots’ section. This contains the full 2,500+ slots selection, and, as you’d expect, it’s a long scroll. The slots are organised with the latest releases at the top, and these do appear to be brand new.
The Cloudbet library contains a lot of slots but not many ways to narrow them down. However, when accessing the slots list from the menu at the left of the page (but not from the tabs), there are drop-down menus for sorting them by title and for filtering by developer, which is great.
Also, players can access a list of ‘Jackpot Slots.’ These include a few slots with big progressive network jackpots like Mega Moolah and WowPot. Some sites overlook the inclusion of these, but they offer the biggest wins anywhere, and players including myself appreciate them. This further reinforces the fact that Cloudbet is a great place for high rollers and those seeking the biggest wins.
This is a busy site and there’s a lot to like, including:
There’s a handy search bar for if you’re seeking something specific. Using the search bar, I found enough Megaways games that separate tabs for these would be justified.
Having gotten a bit of a feel for what’s on offer, it seems clear that Cloudbet is trying to cover all the bases, and they’re doing a great job of it.
Also accessible via multiple menus are sections for ‘Baccarat,’ ‘Roulette,’ ‘Blackjack,’ and a separate live casino lobby.
Within the lobby, players can browse by providers. The fact that there are multiple providers here is a definite plus, as some casinos only host games from one, often Evolution. At Cloudbet, live games are provided by Evolution, Playtech, Pragmatic Play, Vivo, On Air Entertainment, Live88 and Quickspin.
Although not the biggest live casino I’ve come across, there’s a decent selection within each live game category, and it’s likely that Cloudbet can even cater to crypto players who are exclusively interested in these. As is the case with slots, these are all displayed with helpful information beneath them.
Cloudbet comes with all the trimmings, from ‘Game Shows’ to ‘Esports’ and beyond.
In terms of video table games, there are around 20 titles spanning craps, card games and roulette. There are some big name developers behind them, and the selection can be filtered by these.
I found 34 titles in the ‘Game Shows’ tab, which is significantly more than some sites have. These too, come from multiple developers, can be filtered, and are quite varied, so I’d expect that fans of game shows will be more than satisfied.
The Sports section of Cloudbet features lots of popular sports - as well as some more obscure ones - with live in-play betting and real-time odds. There are also special markets introduced for significant sporting events.
From the Sports drop-down, you can also find ‘Virtual Sports,’ with a small selection of scheduled 3D games run by Cloudbet. These are popular with some players, and their inclusion is a bonus.
Accessible only via the More drop-down menu at the top of the page is a separate sportsbook for eSports. It’s fascinating to see how quickly these have become popular, with gaming fans now able to wager on their favourite players of Overwatch, League of Legends, Rainbow Six and other games.
There’s also a small ‘Provably Fair’ section. These games are commonly found on crypto-focused sites. If a game is provably fair, its developer has designed it in such a way that the player can be certain of the algorithm's impartiality. This isn’t to say that other games aren’t fair, just that these use technologies such as cryptography and the blockchain to guarantee and verify it.
Cloudbet scores 8.5/10 for Promotions
Unusually, despite offering some attractive promos with player-friendly terms, Cloudbet doesn’t make a big fuss about them. The ‘Promotions’ page can be accessed via the ‘More’ drop-down menu.
Most of the promos are part of the Cloudbet Rewards program, which enables players to climb through levels, unlocking rewards and other perks. Cloudbet rewards tend to come with player-friendly terms, but some do have wagering requirements.
The bonuses change so often and are so varied that players should check the terms of the rewards available to them on the day. Daily rewards become available three times in each 24-hour period, and expire after 12 hours.
As with other casinos, Cloudbet’s welcome bonus is liable to change. That said, players can often claim some absolutely massive deposit matches. I can’t overstate how big some of the max bonus amounts are, and they can be claimed in virtually any cryptocurrency.
Here are some of the standout qualities of Cloudbet’s promotional offerings:
There’s clearly no shortage of incentives for loyal, returning players. Cloudbet knows the value of bonuses to both new and existing players, and - unlike some of its competitors - it gives players the freedom to choose.
The full range of developers whose games feature on Cloudbet is impressive, and the best way to view it is by visiting the slots section and opening the filter option. It includes plenty of influential providers known for their high quality outputs. These include Evolution Gaming, Playtech, Pragmatic Play, Spinomenal, Hacksaw Gaming and many more. As I touched on above, there’s also plenty of variety in the live casino and other site sections too.
There’s no app for Cloudbet, but I wouldn’t consider that a drawback. The site runs smoothly on a mobile device, and the scaled-down small-screen version is actually refreshingly simple. I get the impression that Cloudbet is probably more likely to be popular with desktop players anyway.
A note on security: It’s understandable that a crypto-focused site would want to establish itself as trustworthy and reliable. Cloudbet does this by hosting ‘provably fair’ games, holding licences from respected regulators, using encryption to protect players’ data, scoring highly on Trustpilot, and storing funds in protected wallets.
Something else that I wanted to give a mention to is the smooth sign-up process. Players can join quickly and easily using their existing Google or GitHub account.
Cloudbet scores 8/10 for Banking
While looking for clarification regarding whether it would be necessary for players to use external crypto exchanges, I got in touch with customer service. The agent explained that ‘users can buy cryptocurrency with fiat on Cloudbet through our trusted third-party payment providers, using Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and more.’
It therefore isn’t necessary to have any separate BTC wallet accounts, or to bring crypto to Cloudbet with you. You can simply attach a normal payment method to your account, buy some of whichever cryptocurrency you like through Cloudbet, and you’re good to go. The bottom line is: you don’t have to be a cyber-genius to gamble with crypto at Cloudbet.
One reservation I have is that a minority of players are likely to be put off, or perhaps daunted, by the strong focus on crypto. If, however, you’re keen to give crypto a try, Cloudbet is an excellent place to start.
Another drawback is that crypto transactions tend to cost something, referred to as a ‘gas fee.’ Gas fees are usually minimal, and there’s a comprehensive table on the ‘Crypto Transaction Fees’ page where you can find out what withdrawals will cost. There are no fees or minimum limits associated with deposits.
Withdrawals are ‘usually processed instantly’ and you can transfer funds much more quickly than when using conventional payment methods. The minimum withdrawal depends on your cryptocurrency. For instance, Bitcoin’s minimum withdrawal is currently 0.0001 but Ethereum’s is 1.
Cloudbet’s operator is Halcyon Super Holdings B.V., a company licensed and registered in Curacao, just like many other international casinos.
This is the only licence it currently holds, but some of the website’s content suggests that it expects to add more in the near future. As with all sites featured on Slot Gods, players can trust Cloudbet.
Cloudbet scores 9/10 for Customer Support
Cloudbet’s FAQ section is not only comprehensive, it’s also cleverly organised. It looks a little like a forum, and it’s basically a series of articles. These articles cover topics including payments, support, fairness, technical issues and more, and there’s a responsive search bar for finding your way through these.
Players with a query can get in touch with the Cloudbet team via email, live chat or social media at any time that suits them. Not only is assistance 24/7, but it’s available in multiple languages and - something that scores big in my books - there are no annoying chatbots!
You don’t even need to be logged in to get in touch with a real person, which is more than can be said for some sites. I found the agents to be quick to respond, cheerful, and, most importantly, genuinely helpful.
Cloudbet is pretty much the ultimate crypto casino. It’s not only suitable for beginners, but the expansive game library of 2,500+ slots and the highly valuable bonuses are likely to attract experienced, high-rolling players too.
The site itself manages to be comprehensive without being overly complicated or awkward to get around. There are, however, a few overlapping menus and a few missing tabs. These are minor quibbles and they really shouldn’t dissuade players from checking out Cloudbet.
Promotions cover all the bases, and the T&Cs are often very reasonable. Players get cashback on every wager they make, and the multiple daily bonuses ensure that there’s always something to wager towards.
Cloudbet’s approach to customer service is virtually flawless, with around-the-clock support via various channels. The agents are articulate and helpful, so players who need some guidance will be just fine.
Frankly, I think Cloudbet is a strong indication of what the casinos of the future might look like.
