You can take this party down through a trapdoor and into the situation room, where those big boom multipliers are waiting to tear into the prizes. If you can activate total war mode, those multipliers will just keep on hitting you until your balance simply can’t take any more cash rewards!
The battle commences with a 6x6 grid and standard wins are formed using a scatter pays mechanic. You need at least 8 matching symbols to land a win, and the best prize is 75x for a group of 30 or more barrels of oil.
The bomber symbols can appear at any time and increase the win multiplier by up to 25, and the nuke symbols can multiply the win multiplier by up to 5x. The WickedBoom is how you get those multipliers on to the grid as they take the spin multiplier and apply them to the current win.
Heading into the bonus round requires golden pager symbols, or a little extra cash. 3 or 4 of the scatter symbols will trigger the standard or advanced free spins, and both games present 8 free plays.
You can pick up extra spins during the feature round, and the first game allows the multipliers to continue growing until they are applied, and the advanced version sees them persist even after the boom has sent them to work their magic. Direct entry costs 125x or 850x.
These 3 symbols are essential for landing big wins because they can multiply your payouts as you play. The nukes can multiply the spin multiplier, the bomber can simply add up to 25 to the spin multiplier, and the WickedBoom will see those multipliers applied to any wins during that spin.
3 or 4 golden pager symbols will trigger the standard or advanced free spins bonus – alternatively, you can pay 125x or 850x. There is also an option to grab a mystery result by paying 300x. The basic free spins allow the multiplier to continue growing, but it resets after it is applied. The advanced version will let the multiplier persist even after it has boosted your wins.
It probably comes as no surprise to hear that this game is super volatile, and that can be bad news for your balance while you're waiting for those multipliers to build up and bonus games to arrive. I spent quite a long time ploughing through my balance until I finally hit the super bonus game, where I scooped up over 3,000x! However, that just about got my balance back to where it started. If you are lucky and witness those nukes landing on your head often enough, you could take home the grand war chest of 50,000x.
Not everybody will be happy with the audiovisuals in War Whores, and some international leaders, and past leaders, may be outright offended! Wicked Games clearly doesn't care, and they intend to drive their message home with bombs in the shape of butt plugs and everyone dressed in rubber superhero outfits. The soundtrack might not have been my first choice, but it does add quite a strange energy and a decent tempo that keeps the story moving along.
There is a genuine opportunity here to land some crazy wins, and there’s every chance that the max payout will drop before long. However, it relies completely on those win multipliers, and even once you build them up, you still need to wait for the boom to apply them and give you anything decent. It's going to make some players extremely happy but lots of others completely frustrated. Which one will you be?
