We've all been guilty of suffering a brain fart during our lifetimes, but it seems that this character makes a living out of it. Each time you land a win, there's a chance that a new one can take place thanks to an avalanche of symbols, and the results get even better as the multiplier doubles. Watch out for those giant symbols as well, which can produce rewards all over the grid.
Each time a win takes place on this grid, you can pick up rewards that are worth up to 10x, and you need a minimum of 8 matching symbols to score a prize. Winning symbols disappear and new ones create an avalanche that repopulates the grid and doubles the multiplier as you go. Certain steps along the multiplier journey can also be skipped if a special symbol lands.
The giant symbol will add large versions of the regular paying symbols and these can count for up to 9 matching symbols. Don't worry about the multiplier lock symbol for a moment, because this can only affect proceedings during the free spins bonus.
You can trigger the free spins bonus when you land between 3 and 5 matching symbols, and the result is up to 12 free spins. The multiplier meter will reset to the lowest saved multiplier value at the beginning of each spin and the multiplier lock symbol is the way to achieve this.
There is a super version of the free spins game and a giant symbol is guaranteed to appear on every spin. You can also fast-track your way to the bonus game by paying 100x or 300x for the super version.
Every time a win takes place, you will see the win multiplier double and this is great news as any following wins will be affected by this larger multiplier figure. Once the avalanche of symbols stops and no more winning sequences take place, the multiplier drops back to 1x.
Regular free spins and super free spins are both achievable when you land between 3 and 5 scatter symbols. The regular game starts when all 3 triggering scatters are standard bonus symbols, and the super version requires just 1 super scatter symbol. The multiplier lock symbol will retain your multiplier level, and if you hit the super game, you get a guaranteed giant symbol.
It's pretty obvious that the win potential lies in the multiplier that will double with each winning sequence. Given that this is a scatter pays game, there's every chance that a new set of matching symbols will drop down and assist the existing ones to create a payout which continues to grow as you play. It's a great system that many developers have utilised over the years, and most players love it! On a good day, this crazy scientist could put together a 15,000x win to reward your balance.
Dr Brainfart is a fairly stereotypical scientist who may conjure up memories of Rick and Morty or perhaps even Back to the Future. You'll know exactly what I mean when you see his crazy grey hair and long white coat. The game area is bright and bold, and this sits in contrast to the dull grey scientific background that is strangely set at the top of the skyscraper. The soundtrack is pretty forgettable, but it has quite a fun tempo to assist your spins.
The overall verdict for Dr Brainfart is positive! It offers a very similar set of features to many other games, but it is the theme that will help make it stand out from the crowd. It might just be that my spins were particularly lucky, but I managed to watch that multiplier continue to double continuously.
