Wazdan has been accused of creating some reskins in recent times and I don't think they can really deny it! Most games look the same as the last and you only get a few variations that seem to do the rounds quite regularly. It's probably not enough to make you want to try every game in the back catalogue but if you've never tried out one of these slots before, then you'll at least get to see some new mechanics and a slightly different way of thinking.
Wazdan has been showing us this quite unique way of landing prizes for a while now, but it isn't going to please everyone. The main problem is that the base game cannot and will not produce any payouts. You have no regular symbols to watch out for, no win lines and no modifications.
The Cash Infinity symbol randomly appears and sticks to the reels until the end of the bonus games. They lock in place and award prizes worth up to 10x at the end of the features.
Each of the 16 spaces on the grid will spin independently and you'll see cash coins, mystery symbols, jackpots, bells and Cash Infinity symbols.
The first of the two bonus games is the Hold the Jackpot feature and to get there, you need to land four symbols in the central four spaces during the base game.
At this point, the grid turns into a respins bonus and you are awarded three lives. Each spin might produce a special symbol that sticks on the reels and a cash figure. If this is the case, your three lives are renewed and you've got a win to collect at the end of the bonus.
Regular cash symbols can pay up to five times your bet and the three smaller jackpots can also get you between 10x and 50x. If you witness three spins without landing a bonus symbol, it's game over and you collect your prizes. Mystery symbols will reveal regular cash prizes or one of the three lower jackpots and if you want to see the highest jackpot, then you're going to need a bonus symbol in each space on the grid.
The second game is called Bells of Fortune and you'll probably notice that there is an extra grid to the side of the game area. Each time a bell lands, it is saved on the grid and once you've completely filled this matrix, you'll play Bells of Fortune. You now have three picks from the 16 gates and you'll reveal three prizes.
If you uncover a plus one pick, you get an extra chance. All of the jackpots are available to choose and once you've made your selection, all prizes are revealed. Mystery symbols can also help out and a growing multiplier can increase the value of cash coins.
Landing bonus symbols on the central four spaces will activate this feature where you can start to pick up some prizes. Three respins begin the game and each time a bonus symbol lands, they are renewed with each symbol producing a cash prize. Some symbols offer wins worth up to 20x and mystery symbols will reveal themselves at the end of the feature. You can also pick up the Mini, Minor and Major jackpots, but you will need to completely fill the grid to walk off with the Grand 1,000x prize.
If a bell symbol appears, it gets saved to a grid to the side of the game area. When this grid is full, the bonus game begins. You choose 3 of the 16 gates to reveal your prizes and you can pick up extra picks as well. The chosen gates reveal jackpot prizes, cash multipliers and mystery symbols. The mystery symbols can only turn into one of the four jackpot prizes. Multiplier symbols will increase the overall multiplier by their value.
You can make several adjustments to the game and one of those is the volatility rating. You get to decide if you want to play a low, medium or high volatility. There is a chance level to the side of the reels and you can make each game up to 10 times more likely to trigger the bonus features. You can also buy your way directly into the bonus games if you live outside the UK. Options range from 50x to 400x.
Given that the base game offers no prizes, we can say with certainty that it is only the bonus game that offers something decent. I found that the Hold the Jackpot game triggered quite regularly but I didn't get anywhere near the Bells of fortune. There is a very modest 1,000x max win and this can drop as soon as a Grand jackpot prize is awarded.
The slot follows a very similar formula that seems to have gone down a storm at Wazdan, but it isn't my favourite. There's a lot of gold, fiery animations and a fairly bland electric beat keeping you awake. It's nice to see a grid working a little differently with independent spaces offering spaces where you can leave your bonus coins and it looks perfectly acceptable on mobile screens as well.
Bells of Fortune, like many other Wazdan titles, is going to be quite divisive. On the one hand, there's not much to it and it doesn't really resemble a regular slot but on the other, you've got a very realistic max win and you should see the bonus games trigger more often than you would with other slots. If you've never tried one of these Hold the Jackpot slots before, then this one is as good as any for your first outing.
