Things get underway on this set of 6 reels with wins accumulating from left to right, and as long as they fall on adjacent reels, these matching symbols can pay you up to 6x.
The wild symbols can land on the central 4 reels, and they substitute for regular paying symbols as wins are evaluated. Bonus symbols can also land on the central reels, and these are key if you would like to head off and play for free.
There are also key symbols and coins, along with 4 jackpot prizes. Cursed symbols will take on one of the jackpot prizes and can land anywhere on the reels.
The coins and/or cursed symbols landing together with a collect symbol will ensure that the values are added together and are awarded to your balance. If 2 collect symbols exist, then you grab the values twice. The mega jackpot is worth 500x.

4 bonus symbols will activate the bonus spins and this takes you off to a fairly similar place to where the Demon Mode bonus plays out. Once again, it's a set of 3 respins and cash prizes will land. The main difference here seems to be that you won't collect the cash prizes and upgrade them as you go, but they'll get added to your balance once you finish the game.
You can clear a reel of coins once you fill it up with prizes, and it’ll give you a chance to win some more, along with increasing the level multiplier.

You can activate this mode in 2 distinct ways, but they both require keys. The first is to land 3 key symbols at the same time, and the second is to watch 1 key symbol randomly trigger the feature. You get 3 respins, and each time a coin or jackpot lands, those spins reset.
My balance didn't make much progress during the base game, but I did see some fairly frequent standard wins. Unfortunately, the collect symbol failed to appear very often, and I'd say that the bonus spins were slightly more outgoing during my session. It was the Demon Mode spins that did the most damage to this haunted house – I picked up a payout of over 70x – and while the max win hasn't been published just yet, I imagine it will be something fairly modest rather than one of those eye-watering sums that we see from time to time.
There's a lot of attention to detail to enjoy in Call of the Reaper with a set of main characters making up the high-paying symbols and a nice candelabra acting as the multiplier meter. Key symbols are sent off to the door on the right, and every so often, you get some additional animations as you're taken off to the bonus round to witness those expanding collector symbols as they swallow up cash prizes and send them to your balance.
Call of the Reaper has some good ideas going on, but there is an underlying lack of direction with this slot. The storyline doesn't really meld together perfectly, and the two bonus games are essentially the same thing with some very subtle differences. It feels like a good starting point and I'd be interested to see if Fantasma decides to make a sequel and send this initial idea on a path to glory in the near future. Perhaps it's worth trying it out so you can get ahead of the curve and see where it all started, just in case it becomes a fan favourite.
